The Grand Hall of the Palace of the Republic has seen some of the biggest moments on Minsk’s event calendar. Its stage has been used for national celebrations such as Victory Day and Republic Day, as well as major official events and high-level gatherings. It has also welcomed international performers including José Carreras, Patricia Kaas, Vanessa-Mae and Mireille Mathieu, alongside large concert, theatre and symphonic productions.

 

Lighting a Stage at This Scale

That is where the LiGHT SKY installation comes in. The fixtures are integrated into the overhead lighting arrangement, with a main lighting matrix above the stage and additional positions above the audience facing the performance area. Rather than relying on a single fixture type, the system combines moving wash, profile and beam lighting to build the stage picture with different layers of light.

 

AQUAPEARL-PRO, a moving wash with 19 × 40W RGBW LED sources, provides broad coverage and rich color across the performance area, creating the overall wash and atmosphere for large-scale productions.

The SUPER SCOPE series, powered by high-output white LED sources, combines framing, CMY, CTO, gobos, prisms and other beam-shaping functions for precise control across the Grand Hall. SUPER SCOPE MAX, with its 1200W LED source and 50,700 lumens, delivers powerful coverage for larger areas, while SUPER SCOPE II and SUPER SCOPE provide flexible framing and beam-shaping options. Together, the three models create a versatile profile lighting system for the stage.

SCOPE BEAM, with a 230W OSRAM LED source, adds narrow beam and spot effects through its beam, gobo, prism and frost functions, bringing more concentrated visual accents to the overall design. Together, these fixture types provide the coverage, shaping and effects needed to build a complete stage lighting system.

 

From Concerts to Large-Scale Productions

The range of the system becomes especially useful as the production changes. Concerts can draw on broad color, movement and beam effects to create a more immersive stage, while theatre, dance and symphonic productions can use controlled profile lighting to give greater definition to performers and scenic elements. For ceremonies and official events, the lighting can shift toward a cleaner, more focused stage image while maintaining clear visibility across the performance area.

This combination allows the same installation to support very different large-scale productions without compromising the visual demands of the stage.
